Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know before your trip.

What is an eSIM?

An eSIM is a digital SIM built into your phone. Instead of swapping a plastic card, you install a data plan from a QR code, which makes it handy for travel.

Is my phone compatible?

Most recent phones support eSIM: iPhone XS/XR and newer, Google Pixel 3 and newer, and Samsung Galaxy S20 and newer. Your phone must also be carrier-unlocked.

How do I install my eSIM?

After you buy, we email a QR code and manual install details. Scan the QR in your phone’s settings, or tap the install link on the phone itself. You’ll need Wi-Fi or a working data connection to install.

When does my plan activate?

Most plans start counting when they first connect to a network at your destination, so you can install before you fly and activate on arrival. The validity period is shown on every plan.

Can I keep my own phone number?

Yes. Your eSIM runs alongside your normal SIM (dual-SIM), so you keep your number for calls and texts while using the eSIM for data.

Can I make calls and send texts?

Our plans are data-only. You can call and message over the internet with apps like WhatsApp, FaceTime, Line, or Telegram.

Can I share my data or use a hotspot?

Yes, most plans support tethering, so you can share your connection with a laptop or another phone.

Will one eSIM work in several countries?

Single-country plans cover one destination; our regional and global plans cover many countries on a single eSIM. Check the coverage list on each plan.

Can I add more data?

Yes. When you’re running low, top up the same eSIM from the app or website. There’s no need to install a new one.

What is your refund policy?

Plans that haven’t been installed or activated can be refunded. Once a plan is activated or data has been used, it can’t be refunded. If your eSIM won’t install, contact us and we’ll make it right.

What happens when my plan runs out or expires?

Your data simply stops, and there are no overage charges. Buy a new plan or top up to keep going.
